Miró and Primary Colours

Materials Required:

  • Images of art by Joan Miró
  • Paper
  • Red, yellow and blue paint
  • Paint brushes
  • Black felt tips
  • Primary colour print out (click on image below to open it in a new page for printing)

For tonight’s activity we started by looking at art by Joan Miró and then talked about primary colours. The boys then had a go at filling in the circles above with primary colours, which they later added to their sketchbooks.

 

Then using Miró’s artwork as inspiration we came up with some Miró-inspired art.

We started by drawing out the outlines using black felt tips, then used primary colours to fill in areas of the picture. When we’d finished the picture, we then had a lot of fun thinking up interesting titles for the art we’d created!!
